Dear Mr. MacDonald:

The General Electric Ccmpany, Vallecitos Nuclear Center (VNC), requests tha Certificate of Compliance No. 5926 for the G.E. Mcdel 100 shipping container be acdified to read:

5. (b) Contents (1) Type and form of material (i) Byproduct and spxial nuclear material in the fon:. of fuel rods, or plates, fuel assemblies, or.neeting special fom requirements of 10 CFR 571.4(o); or (ii) Solid non-fissile irradiated metal hardware or c'.her solid non-fissile material provided it is contained in xtal cladding.

The basis for this amendment is the fact that the requested materials cannot readily disperse under the postulated accident conditions.

A check for $150.00 for the amendment fee is enclosed.
