Three Mile Island Nuclear Station, Unit 2 (TMI-2)
Operating License No. DPR-73 Docket No. 50-320 Submerged Demineralizer System This letter is provided to indicate our intentions for the ccaduct of training for personnel who will be associated with the operational aspects of the subject system.
Those personnel will include representatives from the various departments within the GPU/ Met-Ed organization including, but not necessarily limited to, plant operators and maintenance personnel, health physics personnel, and engineering department personnel. Vendor personnel will also participate in t'.e training program.
We have commenced training activities that include a multi-phased approach.
The phases are:
PHASE I - Classroom Training Classroom training is performed to accomplish the objective of the pro-vision of system design information and the theory of system operation.
PilASE II - Practical Factors Training The practical factors training has been allocated to permit the performance of " hands-on" training for SDS operations and maintenance, prior to placing the system into operation.
These training activities are being performed in accordance with lesson plans that have been prepared explicitly for SDS training.
Furthermore, qualifications /
practical factors check sheets will be prepared and will be used to document the qualification status of personnel.
