- CHANGES ANNOUNCED IN G. O. POWER PRODUCTION LEE V. MAURIN, JR., formerly Production Operations Manager, has been appointed to a new position of Project Director of the Waterford 3 Project.
I.n this position he will assume responsibility for coordinating, directing and supervising all phases of the Pr oj ec t, except corporate Quality Assurance, through startup of the unit, including engineering, construction, startup, operation and maintenance. He will be located at the site in order to provide effective administration of the total Waterford 3 Project.
FRANCIS X.
(FRANK) SHAUGHNESSY, a former LP&L Production employee, has been retained as a consultant to fill the new position of Production Operations Manager-Fossil until Waterford 3 is placed in commercial operation and will supervise the operation and maintenance of all fossil fueled units.
Both of these announcements were made today by D. L. Aswell, Vice President--Power Pr oduc tion.
MAURIN joined the Company in 1950 as Meterman C at G. O. State Meter. Shortly there-af ter he was transferred and promoted to Ninemile Point as Auxiliary Operator, later moving up to Assistant Engineer in 1951. He was promoted to Associate Engineer the following year. Maurin was transferred to G. O. Engineering in 1956 and promoted to Engineer.
In 1963 he was promoted to Production Engineer. He received a promotion and was cransferred to Ninemile in 1968 as Station Superintendent. He returned to G. O.
Pc',er Production in 1971 af ter being promoted. to Nuclear Project Manager. He was promoted to Waterford 3 Station Superintendent in 1972 and in 1979 was promoted to his present position in Power Production.
He is a graduate of LSU with a degree in Electrical Engineering and has completed the Public Utility Executive Course, the PUR Guide course, and the Quality Assurance training program. He has attended the Harding College Freedom Forum.
SHAUGHNESSY began his long LP&L career as a Stenographer at Sterlington in 1936. He was promoted to Of fice Assistant in 1942, to Assistant Engineer in 1943, and to Engineer in 1944. He transferred to Little Gypsy in 1959 and in 1961 returned to Sterlington after being promoted to Assistant Station Superintendent. The LP&L'er was promoted to Station Supterintendent at Little Gypsy in 1970. In 1977 he transferred to G. O. Power Production as Production Planning Engineer, retiring later that year.
A graduate of LSU with a degree in Science and Mathematics, SHAUGHNESSY has completed the PUR Guide course, the Industrial Defense and Disaster Planning Seminar, and attended the Harding College Freedom Forum.
