Dear Mr. MacDonald:
General Atonic Company makes application for amendnent to certificate of Con-pliance #9034 to allow the substitution of a revised drawing. The revicion is necessary because current DOT regulations require new uording on the pack-age label which is inconsistent with that prescribed of the currently re-ferenced package drawing.
We request that the certificate of compliance section 5(a)(3) be amended to read "The packaging... drawing #TOS396C161, Rev. A."
This amendment will allow GAC to use packages fabricated with current DOT required labeling and marking.
Please note'that the revised drawing also has deleted.' note 1, modified note 3 to remove paint color specificity, and added a note calling for a clean-liness criteria for the inner container to assure that packaged fuel elements are not damaged in shipment. None of these matters have any significant ad-verse.inpact on the package quality or caterial safety.
We conclude that this amendment is necessary for administrative reasons only and have accordingly enclosed a check for $150.00 to cover cost of proces-sing such an amendrent.
We look forward to your early issuance of the amended Certificate of Com-pliance.
