In accordance with your request, we have performed a general review of the PSAR, Volumes I, II, and III, and Amendments 1 through 8, for the Midland Plant. Our review was also based on data gained during a

meeting with members of the~ staff of Division of Reactor Licensing and ~

the applicant on January 29, 1970.

We are enclosing herewith-five copies of our report, " Review of the Seismic Design Criteria for the: Midland Plant." We have revised our draft report based on discussions with the applicant and members of the DRL staff at a meeting on January 29, 1970,.and on-Amendment No. 8 to the PSAR, which'we received-on February 18, 1970. Please note that -

there are several items which have been discussed with the applicant and are still-not adequate.  ;
