O Appendix A NOTICE OF VIOLATION Commonwealth Edison Company Docket No. 50-254 Docket No. 50-265 Based on the inspection conducted on May 28, 1980 at Richland, Washington, it appears that certain of your activities were in noncompliance with NRC requirements, as noted below. This item is a Severity Level III noncom-pliance.
As required by 10 CFR 71.5, shipments of licensed radioactive materials must comply with the requirements of the Department of Transportation, 49 CFR 170-189. 49 CFR 173.392(c)(1) requires that low specific activity (LSA) materials be packaged in strong, tight packages.
Contrary to the above, the top of one bin, number 5-22-80-001, was not securely attached to the bin so that it could not be considered a strong, tight package, l
