?ursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 and tne Unitad States Nuclear Regulatory Comission's regulations in 10 CFR Part 51,' notice is herecy given that a Oraft Programatic Environmental Igact Statement prepared by the Comission's Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation related to the proposed decontamination and disposal of racioactive wastes resulting from the March 23, 1979, accident at Three Mile Island Nuclear Station Unit 2, located in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, is available for inspection by the public in the Comission's Public Document Room at 1717 H Street, N.W., Washington, D. C..and in the local public docuaent rooms at the State Library of Pennsylania, Government Publications Section Education Building, Comonwealth and Walnut Streets, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania 17126, and at the York College of Pennsylvania, Country Club Road, York, Pennsylvania 17405. The Draft Statement is also being made available at the Pennsylvania State Clearinghouse, Governor's Budget Office, Intergovernmental Relations Division, P.O. A related document which may be of interest is NUREG-0698, "NRC Plan for Cleanup Operations at Three Mile Island Unit 2."

This NRC plan defines the functional role of the NRC in the cleanup operations at Three Mile Island Unit 2 to assure that agency regulctory responsibilities and objectives will be fulfilled.
