Dear Mr. Crier:
In reference (a) Boston Edison Company was requested to either install a system to continuously monitor water 1cvels in the scram discharge volumes by September 1, 1980 or submit justification why the installation date cannot be met.
Boston Edison Company has ordered a Scram Discharge Header Water Level Monitoring System from General Electric Co. as discussed during reference (b).
Due.to the generic nature of this system and given that other utilities will re-quire the~same hardware at the same time it is anticipated that the earliest delivery date would be October 1, 1980. GE will advise us whmn the actual hard-ware delivery date is ascertained.
Upon receipt of this system we shall endeaver to install the equipment on a schedule which is both expeditious.

In the interim until sys-tem installation is complete, we shall continue the daily water level monitoring surveillance as specified in reference (d).
