SUBJECT:
NEW SAFETY C CEPTS FOR FUTURE CONSTRUCTION At a recent meeting with the ACRS and the Commission, an ACRS member asked whether the Commission was examining changes or potential safety improvements which could be incorporated into any new design for nuclear power plants that would substantially increase their safety.
I have sent the attached memorandum to the NRC staff and would appreciate the views of any ACRS member (or of the ACRS) who might have suggested improvements to offer for consideration.
