MEETING 0F THE AMERICAN NUCLEAR SOCIETY POWER DIVISION PROGRAM COMMITTEE On June 2, 1991 I attended the meetings of ANS Power Division Program Committee and the Subcommittee on Procurement Engineering and Materials Management in Orlando, Florida. This was the first meeting of the newly-formed subcommittee.
The main considerations included the identification of specific topics (sessions) for the upcoming 1992 annual meeting in Boston, Massachusetts. The subcommittee on Procurement Engineering and Materials Management proposed the following sessions:
1.
Panel discussion titled "The NUMARC Comprehensive Procurement Initiative: Status Report." Panelists would included NRC, NUMARC, and Utility representa_tives.
2.
Material Acceptance - Then and Now: Audits, Surveys, Inspections and Tests.
3.
Inventory Management: Logical / Efficient?
These topics / sessions were approved by the Program Committee. Other bogram Committee actions included a vote to disband the Subcommittee on security and
