~ Subj ec t : Comments on Draft Regulatory Guide DG-1001, Maintenance Programs for-Nuclear Power Plants
Dear Mr. Chilk:
Toledo Edison is pleased to provide comments on the subject draf t Regulatory i
Guide as requested by the NRC in the August 17, 1989 Federal Register 54 FR33988.
Toledo Edison strongly supports the NUMARC position on the draft Regulatory Guide, DG-1001. Toledo Edison would like to further emphasize that the NRC should consider possible alternatives for addressing the goals and objectives of the Commission's policy statement on maintenance.. - Since these objectives are consistent with those of Toledo Edison and the industry, satisfactory implementation can probably be achieved without additional regulation.
If you have any questions concerning this matter please contact, Mr. R. V. Schrauder, Manager - Nuclear Licensing, at (419) 249-2366.
Sincerely yours, RVG/ssg cci
