o o i c u UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION DOCKET NO. 50-285 OMAHA PUBLIC POWER DISTRICT NOTICE OF ISSUANCE Or AMENDMENT TO FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE The U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Comission (the Comission) has issued Amendment No. 39 to Facility Operating License No. DPR-40 issued to Omaha Public Power District which revised Technical Specifications j

for operation of the Fort Calhoun Station, Unit No.1, located in Washington County, Nebraska.

The amendment is effective as of its date of issuance.

The amendment provides for additions to the Technical Specifications appended to the Fort Calhoun Operating License which will incorporate the low temperature overpressure protection system (OPS) into the Limiting Conditions for Operation and Surveillance Requirements.

The application for the amendment complies with the standards and requirements of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act), and the Comission's rules and regulations.

The Comission has made appropriate findings as required by the Act and the Comission's rules and regulations in 10 CFR Chapter I, which are set forth in the license amendment.

Prior public notice of this amendment was not requied since the aniendment does not involve a significant hazards consideration.

I The Comission has determined that the issuance of this amendment will not result in any significant environmental impact and that pursuant to 10 CFR 5 51.5(d)(4) an environmental impact sta"tement or negative declaration and environmental impact appraisal need not be prepared in l-connection with issuance of this amendment.
