= EC Bulletin No. 80-02 addmsses stress corrosion cracking of high-hardness bolting in check valves.of a particular design. GPU Nuclear has reviewed the conditions described in.this EC Bulletin and has deteI1nined that the potential. to experience the described check valve bolt failure is nonexistent in-the current TMI-2 recovery mode. Based on this determination, GPU Nuclear will not conduct the inspection reouested by the subject bulletin.

If a decision is made to restart TMI-2, this-PC Bulletin will be re-evaluated.
