Guidelines for the DCE/tEC l

Weekly Telecon on LNThA Project Status l

I; To improve conrnunication between tfC and DCE with regard to the status and schedules of the LISTA Project sites, a weekly conference call has teen l

established.

The following criteria are provided to set general guidelines and

E goals for the conduct of.these telecons.

1.

Tte DCE Uranium Mill Tailingt Project Of fice, the IEC Division of i

I Low-Level Waste Management and Decommisioning (LLl+1), and the tFC Uranium Recovery Field Of fice (LFFD) should assign eppropriate staf1 to participate in these weekly telecons. There should be a primary participant from each group and one or more backup participants to provide coverage in the event of leave, travel, or other absence. The telecons 4

should include management participation.

In preparation for each telecon, the primary participants should ensure that they are aware of the up-to-date status of all review items in their respective organizations.

In addition, they should check with appropriate staff and management to be informed of any generic isstes that should be discussed.

DCE will initiate each telecon. The day and time may vary depending on participant agreement and schedule; however, tte telecons should be conducted early in tre week.

Each telecon should begin with a DOE discussion of the items that are scteduled to te submitted to tEC within the next few months (forecast list). DCE should indicate any changes to existing dates-to-fRC and the basis for the changes. Further, new items to be added to the list and

items that have been transmitted to tEC should be identified.

Next, LLL+1 and LFO sach should discuss the status of all casswork reviews in their respective organi::ations. The tFC participants should l

indicate any changes to the dates-to-DN and the basis for the changes.

l ffC should also indicate any casework that has just been completed and sent to DCE. During the discussion of tEC reviews, DCE should establish l.

and update the priorities for the various casework.

Following the discussion of specific casework, the participants should is raise and discuss any generic or progranmatic issues or questions.

7. The telecer, should be concluded with a summary of any action items resulting from tre call.
8. After each telecon, LLL+1 should update their casework tracking system and. provide a copy to DCE and LFO for information purposes. Other items or issues of a generic or programmatic nature that are discussed during each telecon should be documented and attached to tPe tracking system update.
