CONSIDERATION 0F A FUEL LOADING / LOW POWER OPERATING LICENSE FOR FARLEY UNIT 2 The staff has completed its initial review of the Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant Unit 2 for issuance of a 5% power license. The plant is owned by the s

Alabama Power Company and is located near Dothan, (Houston County) Alabama.

l The plant is the second of a two unit facility consisting of two PWR plants designed by Westinghouse for operation at 2652 MW(t) and 829 MW(e). Unit I c

was licensed for operation on June 25, 1977.

t Our review of Unit 2 is documented in the following Enclosures (1) Draft SER Supplement 4; (2) License and Technical Specifications; (3) Addendum to the Final Environmental Statement and (4) letter dated August 25, 1980 from the licensee demonstrating compliance with the Commission's regulaticr.s.

We will be prepared to meet with the Commission on the operating license for Farley Unit 2 on September 3,1980.
