Dear Senator Stafford:
On September 6,1978, I was invited By Senator Hart to testify at a hearing you requested concerning a 1972 exchange of memoranda between Dr. S. H. Hanauer and myself on pressure suppression containments. The hearing was preempted by various events and never too.k place.
Last February we had an opportunity to discuss this exchange at a hearing before the Subcomittee on Nuclear Regulation.
I believe that your earlier concerns were subsequently addressed in my April 4,1980 responses to your written questions for the record.
However, Senator Hart's original letter of invitation referred to several other matters, which were not covered by my April 4 responses.
In order to complete the record, I have written the enclosed letter to Senator Hart addressing those related matters.
I thought you.would be interested in a copy.
If you have any questions on these or other matters, I would be most happy to discuss them with you.
