Dear Mr. Hood:

River Bend Station, Unit 1 Docket No. 50-458 As requested by Mr. Michael Karlowicz, this letter will confirm a telephone discussion regarding clarification of infor-mation submitted in support of the request for amendment of the River Bend Station, Unit 1 Construction Permit to include Cajun Electric Power Cooperative, Inc. (" Cajun") as a part owner of the facility.

As stated in the Amendment to Application and Request for Amendment of CPPR-145 submitted October 26, 1979 at page 7, Cajun will finance its entire share of construction costs through tra-ditional Rural Electrification Administration ("REA") financing.

As noted during the conversation with Mr. Karlowicz, the REA noticed in the Federal Register on August 1, 1980 (45 Fed. Reg. 51258) its consideration of providing a guaranty for a loan to Cajun in the approximate amount of $475,500,000. In addition, REA has agreed to reallocate approximately $220,000,000 already committed to Cajun in conjunction with the construction of a coal fired generating unit to help ~ finance Cajun's participation in the River Bend unit and Cajun's share of associated nuclear fuel and transmission lines.

This reallocation is the result of other utilities' participation in Cajun's coal unit reducing Cajun's ownership share in that unit.
