Dear Mr. Eisenhut:
On January 18, 1980, Public Service Company of Indiana, Inc. (PSI) requested the Nuclear Regulatory Co=:aission (NRC) to expedite the National Register nomination forms regarding the eligibility of the McNiell Stone Fort (Site 12 JE 4) located at a planned power location along the Marble Hill-Columbus transaission line.
Since that time, a nu=ber of verbal contacts with your project =anagement personnel have been made to expedite a determination of eligibility. That determination is not yet resolved.
It is requested that the NRC forward the nomination form to the Keeper of the National Register for final determinatien.
If the site is accepted for the National Register, the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation will require that the site either be preserved or that an acceptable mitigation plan be prepared to minimize the impact of power construction.
The National Register of Historic Places, Inventory-Nomination form as attached to my letter of January 18, 1980 to your office is still valid Sool 3
