Unit No. 1 P-80197 United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission Region IV Attn: Mr. Karl V. Seyfrit Director 611 Ryan Plaza Drive, Suite 1000 Arlington, Texass 76012 Docket No. 50-267

REFERENCE:

Bulletin 80-10 Gentlemen:

With respect to IE Bulletin No. 80-10, dated May 6, 1980, our Operations Department has reviewed our facility design and operation to identify systems that are considered as nonradioactive (or described as nonradioactive in the Final Safety Analysis Report), but could possibly become radioactive through interfaces with radioactive systems.

Special consideration was given to the systems described in Item 1 of IE Bulletin No. 80-10, as applicable to Fort St. Vrain.

All of the nonradioactive systems identified as a result of the above review are included in the routine sampling / analysis or monitoring program at Fort St. Vrain.

These surveillance efforts will continue in order to ensure prompt identification of any events which could leak to unmonitored, uncontrolled liquid or gaseous releases to the environment.

l The specific actions taken with regard to Items 1 and 2 of IE Bulletin No. 80-10 are documented and available to the Nuclear Regulatury Commission for review during future on-site inspection efforts.

Very truly yours, h{,uv L
