SUBJECT:
PRE-APPLICATION REVIEW--PLACER AMEX'S PROPOSED AURORAJOINTVENTURE(33000035N01E)
The purpose of this memorandum is to formally close out our pre-application review of Placer Amex's proposed uranium mill and mine complex in southeastern Oregon. As requested by the State of Oregon, we provided technical assistance for the pre-application review in the following areas:
1.
Review of proposed pre-operational monitoring program, as documented in a letter to the State of Oregon, dated March 31, 1980.
2.
Site visit to ::ew proposed and alternative mill and tailings disposal sites and to review alternative site studies. Details on site visit and recommenda-tions to the state are contained in May 27, 1980, trip report which was submitted to the state.
Since we have completed our technical assistance in the above l
areas, as requested by Oregon, this case is being closed out.
Additional work on this project will only be performed if we receive additional requests from Oregon.
