PREAMBLE 2.tal This certificate is issued to satisfy Sections 173.393a,173.394,173.395, and 173.396 of the Department of Transportation Hazardous Materials Regulations (49 CFR 170189 and 14 CFR 103) and Sections 146-19-10a and 146-19-100 of the Department of Transportation Dangerous Cargoes Regulations (46 CFR 146-149), as amended.

GE-1000 (2) Description Steel encased lead shielded shipping cask.
A double-walled steel cylinder protective jacket encloses the cask during transport.
It is bolted to a steel pellet.
The cask is closed by a lead-filled flanged plug fitted with a silicone rubber gasket and bolted closure.
The physical description is as follows:

161F478, Rev. 2 106D3879, Rev. 2 161F479, Rev. 2 10603880, Rev. 2 (b) Contents (1) Type and form of material (i) Byproduct material meeting special form requirements of 10 CFR 971.4(o); or (ii) Solid metal non-fissile irradiated metal hardware.

Radioactive decay heat not to exceed 250 watts.

Shoring shall be provided to minimize movement of contents during accident conditions of transport.
7.
Package contents shall be delivered to a carrier dry.
8.
Prior to each shipment the silicon rubber lid gasket shall be inspection.
The silicone rubber gasket shall be replaced if inspection shows any defects or every twelve (12) months, whichever occurs first.
9.
The package authorized by this certificate is hereby approved for user under the general license provisions of 10 CFR 671.12(b).
