Dear Mrs. Rufenacht:

Thank you for your recent omments concerning the safety of the

'Ihree Mile Island Nuclear Generating facility.

Although the Pennsylvania Public Utility Camission regulates the rates charged by Metropolitan Edison Canpany, the Nuclear Regulatory y'~~ Ctranission regulates th'e safety and licensing of nuclear facilities. I have therefore taken the liberty of forwarding your letter directly to l them.

As part of our current investigation we are examining the ability of Metropolitan Edison to pIcVide safe and adequate service at reasonable rates for its entire service territory, including non-nuclear facilities.

If you have aMitional cmments or suggestions, please feel free to contact Iny office.
