Based on the inspection conducted on March 29 through June 1, 1980, it appears that certain of your activities were in noncompliance with NRC requirements, as noted below.
1.
Technical Specification 3.12.1.C.4.2 states that radioactive gaseous wastes collected in the gas decay tanks shall be held up to a mini-mum of 45 days before being released except during purge and fill operations associated with refueling and reactor startup.
Contrary to the above, on May 6,1980, a portion of the contents of gas decay tank IB was released without being held for 45 days, j

10 CFR 50.72(a)(8) requires nuclear power plant licensees to notify i
the NRC Operations Center within one hour of any accidental, unplanned or uncontrolled radiation release.
Contrary to the above, the licensee failed to report within one hour an accidental, unplanned gaseous release equivalent to approximately 12% of the technical specification limit for instantaneous releases.

Item #1 is an infraction and Item #2 is a deficiency.
