l This is an interim report on a 10CFR50.55(e) event which was reported verbally to Mr. F. T. Daniels, Resident Inspector, on May 2,1980. 1 1

In October,1979. The Cincinnati Gas & Electric Conpany initiated a myiew of all radiograph packages of process piping welds at the Zimer project. Initially, the review was only directed toward a^etection of documentation and technique deficiencies. It was later expanded to include re-interpretation of the film.

At the time of the report to Mr. Daniels, the review program had been temporarily discontinued. Welds reviewed totaled 1565; of these 13 were judged to have questionable indications and one (1) was rejected on the basis of film density. Of these 14,13 were re-radiographed and six (6) were judged to be acceptable. One (1) had been removed as a result of piping modifications. The remaining seven (7) were the subject of further investigation. A sunnary of the present status of these seven welds is included as Attachment "A".

The review program has been resumed, and approximately 840 radiograph l packages remain to be reviewed. We will submit a final report upon completion l e
