This is an interim report on a 10CFR50.55(e) event which was reported verbally to Mr. F. T. Daniels, Resident Inspector, on May 2,1980.
1 In October,1979. The Cincinnati Gas & Electric Conpany initiated a myiew of all radiograph packages of process piping welds at the Zimer project.
Initially, the review was only directed toward a^etection of documentation and technique deficiencies.
It was later expanded to include re-interpretation of the film.
At the time of the report to Mr. Daniels, the review program had been temporarily discontinued. Welds reviewed totaled 1565; of these 13 were judged to have questionable indications and one (1) was rejected on the basis of film density. Of these 14,13 were re-radiographed and six (6) were judged to be acceptable.
One (1) had been removed as a result of piping modifications.
The remaining seven (7) were the subject of further investigation. A sunnary of the present status of these seven welds is included as Attachment "A".
The review program has been resumed, and approximately 840 radiograph packages remain to be reviewed. We will submit a final report upon completion e
