CONSUMERS POWER COMPANY Notice of Availability of Environmental Information and Request for Comments from State and Local Agencies d

Pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 and the Atomic Energy Commission's regulations in Appendix D to 10 CFR Part 50, notice is hereby given that the Consumers Power Company has submitted a report dated July 24, 1970, containing information for preparation of an environmental statement. A copy of the report is being placed in the Commission's Public Document Room, 1717 H Street, N. W., Washington, D. C., and in the Office of the Chairman of the County Board of Supervisors, Midland County, Michigan. This proceeding 1

involves the application by Consumers Power Company for a construction permit for its proposed Midland Plant Units 1 and 2, to be located on its site in Midland Township, Midland County, Michigan, adjacent to the Dow Chemical Company's industrial complex in the City of Midland.

A notice of the receipt of the application by the Commission was published in the FEDERAL REGISTER on February 7,1969 (34 F.R.1841).

The Commission hereby requests, within 60 days of publication of this notice in the FEDERAL REGISTER, from State and local agencies of any affected State (with respect to matters within their jurisdiction) which are authorized to develop and enforce environmental standards, comments on the proposed action and on the report.
