GOVT l-1 (IE Bulletin 79-03A)

Dear Mr. Grier:

This is in complete response to IE Bulletin 79-03A forwarded to us on April 4, 1980, concerning longitudinal weld defects in ASME SA-312 Type 304 stainless steel piping.

I We have reviewed the Limerick Units 1 and 2 wall thickness calculations of SA-312 seamwelded pipe. Based on minimum allowable wall thickness, we have determined that all of our pipe in safety-related systems is subject to stresses less than 85% of the code allowable stress.

j We will be pleased to submit any other information that you may require on this matter.

Very truly yours, S
