UNITED STATES Is, NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION WASHINGTON, D. C. 20555 JUL 2 51980 MEMORANDUM FOR: The Files FROM; R. Neal Moore Senior Licensing Officer Office of International Programs

SUBJECT:

FINDINGS RELATED TO THE PROPOSED IMPORT OF LOW-ENRICHED URANIUM BY TRAN5 NUCLEAR - ISNM80007 Transnuclear, Incorporated submitted an application dated July 7,1980 for a license authorizing the import of 15,000 kilograms of uranium, as UF6 enriched to 1.15%. The shipment will consist of ten type B cylinders from Comurhex in France to Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

This request is essentially the same as previous requests to import low-enriched UF circumstanchs, for example, ISNM780017, and represents no material change in from conditions and findings which existed at the time of the earlier imports. Consequently, it is recommended that this license be issued.
