Dear Ms. Rapkin:
This is in response to your letter of July 7,1980, in which you requested, pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, all statements of policy and interpretations of the Uranium Mill Tailings Radiation Control Act not published in the Federal Register and all documents relating to Kerr-McGee Chemical Corporation's West Chicago facility except those enumerated in your letter.
With regard to paragraph one of your request, please find enclosed a memorandum dated May 25, 1979 for Lee V. Gessick from Samuel J. Chilk which discusses an open Commission meeting regarding the Uranium Mill Tailings Radiation Control Act of 1978 (UMTRCA). All statements of
- policy and interpretations.of the UMTRCA have been published in the.
Federal Register.
In addition, pursuant to your telephone conversation with Mr. W. A. Nixon in the Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards (NMSS), you were directed to the NRC Public Document Room for Region III, located at 799 Roosevelt Road, Glen Ellyn, Illinois 60137, for documents under paragraph two.
This completes NRC action on your request.
