NRC STAFF RESPONSE TO APPLICANTS' MOTION FOR ORDER RE: SCHEDULE AND RELATED MATTERS On July 16, 1980, the Applicants advised the Board that they will amend their l
application in this proceeding to change the proposed site of the Skagit Project i
to a location on the Hanford Reservation near Richland, Washington. They further i
informed the Board that they expect to file the amendment to the application (the general infomation volume) by September 30, 1980, and that by September 30, 1980, they should be able to advise the Board of the anticipated schedule for filing the necessary amendments to the Environmental Report and the Preliminary Safety Analysis Report.
'i Accordingly, the Applicants requested that the Board enter an order to reflect the above facts and to establish a schedule for filing the necessary amendments after the Applicants advise the Board on September 30, 1980, of the anticipated schedule. The NRC Staff supports the Applicants' request on these matters and scese4'o o */ #
C
' further endorses the Applicants' suggestion of quarterly status reports regarding the application commencing on December 31, 1980.
Finally, the Staff agrees with Applicants that the evidentiary hearings and outstanding matters with respect to the Skagit site should be deemed concluded and an appropriate Board order entered reflecting this fact. Accordingly, the Staff is advising the Board in accordance with its " Schedule of Reports from Applicants and NRC Staff" dated July 8,1980, that it will conduct no further review effort on the out-standing geology / seismology issues relating to the Skagit site.
Respectfully submitted.
