By telephone conversation between the NRC staff, T. Ippolito, and your office, L. Wofsey, on July 18, 1980, Mr. Wofsey confirmed information provided us by Georgia Power Company (GPC) that a critical situation existed concerning electrical power generation in the region served by GPC. The NRC staff has taken a regulatory action with respect to GPC based upon that information provided by your office.
We request you confirm in writing GPC's critical situation concerning electrical power generation as of this date. Please provide your response as soon as possible.
