I am a Senior Project Manager, responsible for managing the safety review for the Nuclear Regulatory Cox.ission of assigned plants, including Three Mile Island Unit 2.
I have served in this capacity since October 1973, and had been assigned Three Mile Island Unit 2 from May 1975 until mid-1979.
Since the fall of 1979, I have been assigned as the Project Manager of the IMI-l Restart Program.
I received the degree of Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from ';ew York University in 1949 and have subsequently taken graduate level courses in E,ngineering and Bu,siness Administration.
Between 1950 and 1952, I served in the United States Air Force as a First Lieutenant.
From 1952 to 1955 I was employed as a Design Engineer by the M. W. Kellogg Company.
From 1955 through 1962, I was employed as d Project Engineer by architect-engineering firir.s, including Hydrocarbon Research, Inc. and Bechtel Associates.

The licensee's maintenance staff serving both Unit 1 and Unit 2, has been

increased from about 175 before the accident at TMI-2 to about 241, at this time.
In addition, the licensee currently has about 93 positions on the maintenance staff (31 for Unit 1, 62 for Unit 2) which remain to be filled.
Of the current total of about 241, 79 are involved in planned, corrective and preventive maintenance on !! nit 1, 56 are involved in planned, corrective and preventive maintenance on Unit 2, and 106 are involved in on-shift maintenance (reactive) on both Unit 1 and Unit 2.
