NRC STAFF'S RESPONSE TO MOTION FOR EXTENSION OF DISCOVERY PERIOD On July 8, CCANP, an Intervenor in the captioned proceeding, filed a motion requesting that this Board issue an order extending the discovery period from August 31, 1980 until December 1,1980. The reasons for the motion relate to the pending request by CCANP for a hearing regarding the recent enforcement action taken by the Office of Inspection and Enforcement, and the Congressional hearings that are to be held regarding that action.

Because no licensing hearings are imminent in this matter, and because the Commission has not yet ruled on CCANP's request for a hearing on the show cause order, the Staff has no objection to the issuance of the requested order, despectfully submitted, u.3tif Ck t
