Dear Sir:
NUREG 0577 "Potenti. '_ for Low Fracture Toughness and Lamellar Tearing on PWR Steam Generator and Reactor Coolant Pump Supports" experienced distribution difficulties as denoted in Reference (a). EPRI is currently performing a generic evaluation of the NUREG but due to late receipt of the document has not yet forwarded comments to the industry. Therefore, in order for Boston Edison Company to properly assess the impact NUREG 0577 may have relative to Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station, we request an extension to the comment period until September 15, 1980.
