Dear Mr. Grier:

The purpose of this letter is to confirm telecon discussion of June 11, 1980 with NRC (R. Paolino) requesting an extension till July 31, 1980 in the submission of the subject report to NRC.

The problem of loose pipe support sway strut bushin9s was initially reported by telecon to Region I (McGaughey) on May 13, 1980.

As discussed with Mr. Paolino,

the additional time is required for further engineering examination and study on the part ofSNUPPS and the SNUPPS Utilities.

It is under-stood per discussion with Mr. Paolino that the NRC has no objection to an extension in report submittal in this instance.

The NRC's cooperation in this matter is appreciated.
