In response to IE Bulletin 79-03A concerning longitudinal weld defects in ASME SA-312, type 304 stainless steel pipe, please be advised that all SA-312 or A-312, type 300 series piping fur-nished to the Zimmer Station is seamless.
Seamless pipe is furnished up to size 12".
Sizes 14 through 24" are specified to A-358, which is double welded with filler metal.
SA-312 or A-312, type 300 series fusion welded pipe is not used in the Zimmer Station piping systems.
