Dear Dr. Seaborg:

l A number of journals recently have carried short references j

to the construction pemit delay for the Eadische Anilin and Soda-Fabrik twin 600-Mwe reactors in Lu9wigshafen, West Gezzany. These preposed reactors shceld be of particular interest to us since they, alon5 with the Midland nuclear reactors will be protet,Tes as ccmbined power and process heat suppliers in pcpulated areas. The August 20, 1970 issue cf rueleonics treek reported that, "The Ministry said new data on safety measures for in-city reactors must be obtained befcre any final decision can be reached on tie BASF proposal" (underlines l

added). Naturally the questien arises as to precisely what " data and safety measures" the Ministry stated were missing.
