SUMMARY

OF MEETING WITH CONSUMERS POWER COMPANY REGARDING MIDLAND (PP, ESSURE VESSEL MATERIAL SURVEILLANCE PROGRAM On February 24, 1977 the NRC staff met with representatives of the Consumers. Power Company and Babcock 4Tlilcox. The meeting attbndance is attached.

The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the Midland Plant pressure l

vessel surveillance program and the manner in which the limited amount of archive material identified as WF-70 weld metal will be divided. The WF-70 is a weld material used in the beltline weld for the Midland'UWl, Crystal River, Davis Besse preisure vessels.

The amount of WF-70 available is a total-of 107 inches of linear 7

weld..This WF-70 archive material will be placed in Bonded Storage' until the division and its use in a surveillance program has been decided.
