Our letter of January 5,1977 informed you that the probabilityf(
i being performed relative to a failure of the Reactor Coolant Systef,dy3 rhich is in the annular region between the reactor vessel and the cavity shield vd1 was sched-uled for submittal in April 1977 This study vill address the concern regard-ing the Midland reactor vessel support system vnich was identified in your July 14, 1976 letter and is being performed by a consultant to the B&W 'tikers group. Due to differences in basic design data used by the same consultant during preparation of the Combustion Engineering owners group study, and the reference design being used for B&W plants, it is taking longer to ccmplete the current study than was anticipated. Therefore, the date for submitting the final report to the NRC has been revised to July 1977 Q[
