Dear Mr. Grier:
Re: Docket Nos 50-329 and 50-330 (Midland Plant)
This is in reply to your June 29, 1972 letter which requested infor=ation concerning verification of wall thickness in valves to be use' within the boundaries of Midland Plant systems of Quality Group Classification A, B and C as defined in Safety Guide 26, " Quality Group Classifications and Standards."
A construction permit has not been received for this plant.
For that reason most valves have not been ordered and those valves which have been ordered have not been released for fabrication.
When Quality Group Classification A, B and C valves are ordered and/or released for fabrication, applicable specifications will require inspections to verify that wall thicknesses are in accordance with the then applicable codes.
If a construction permit is received prior to the end of calendar yea:e 1972, we expect that valves in which wall thickness must be verified will be received at the site beginning in February 1975 As valves are received, documentation will be available at the site to verify that the required inspections were made.
