SITE VISIT - HIDLAND ITJCLEAv. PO*7R PIXiT On May 2,1978 a site visit was taken to Midland Nuclear Power Plant by the NRC staff. After a brief orientation upon arrival at the office, we were given tours of the site area. I vic.7ed the ecoling lake, intake structure, Tittabasassee River, flood control dilram, and other features of the site area. Iater in the day I was given a tour of four upstream dans in the Tittabawassee River Basin? The following
'NG four dans vera visited:
(1) Sanford; (2) Secard; (3) Edenville; and (4) Smallwood. These dame had been analysed in the FSAR to determine
.the impact of their fafinre on the Probable Mari==n F1ced level.
The purposa of the inspection was to gather as unch information as possible about the dame and assumptions made to assees their failure.
The applicant, in response to staff hydrologic== ing questione, indicated that certain information about the dans (such as composition,

epillway rating curves, etc.) was not available. We discovered during the sita visits that the informaties was av=41=hle end that Wolverine Power Compesy (owner of the dams) had published a perti===t data sheet f.Q. 'h regarding each of the dame. The applicast stated that the date would
