Dear Mr. Keppler:
Your letter of June 10, 1974 requested that a' detemination be made on whether Westinghouse Type W-2 control switches were installed, or scheduled to be installed, in the Midland Plant. We have determined that no Westinghouse Type W-2 control switches have been installed or purchased for the Midland Plant and, therefore, no corrective action is necessary.
There is some control equipment which has not yet been l
purchased that could include Westinghouse Type W-2 control switches.
We vill take the following precautions to ensure that these failures do not occur in the Midland-Plant. If any equipment yet to be purchased includes Westinghouse Type W-2 control svitches, we vill determine if Westinghouse has corrected the design.
In case the svitches are still susceptible to the type of failures reported in DRO Bulletin Th-6, we vill repair or replace these switches.
