Dear Mr. Keppler:
Your letter of October 25, 1974, which transmitted DRO Bulletin Th-13, requested that a determination be made on whether General Electric Vulkene "600" cable has been used in safety related breaker-starters installed or purchased for the Midland Plant. Be advised that no motor control centers have been in-stalled or purchased for the Midland Plant to date, hence no corrective action is necessary.
Since there does exist a history of improper factory viring when using General Electric Vulkene "600" cable in motor control center breaker-starter connections, ve vill be taking certain precautions to ensure that this improper viring does not occur relative to future purchase orders. These precautions consist of alerting all inspectors to concentrate on this matter when this type of viring is used in motor control centers, whether furnished by General Electric or other manufacturers.
