50-329, 50-330 HYDRAULIC SHOCK AND SWAY SUPPRESSORS FILE: 0505.2 SERIAL: 3178 Your letter of October 8,1976 forwarding NRC Circular No 76-05 covering ITT Grinnell hydraulic shock and sway suppressors requested a determination of whether ITT Grinnell shock and sway suppressors model numbers Fig 200 and Fig 201, catalog PH-Th-R numbers from B-0001 through B-2000 were used or were intended for use in the Midland plant. Our letter to you of January 3, 1977 (misdated January 3,1976), requesting an extensica of the response date, indicated a possibility that ITT Grinnell shock and sway suppressors, model nu=bers Fig 200 and Fig 201 catalog PH-Th-R (serial numbers unknown), had been used or were scheduled for use in the Midland plant. Please be advised that we have now confirmed that no ITT Grinnell snubbers of model numbers Fig 200 or Fig 201 have been employed in the Midland plant. In addition, we have taken appropriate steps to ensure that serial numbers B-0001 through B-2000 of model numbers Fig 200 or Fig 201, catalog Ph-Th-R vill not be allowed in the design of the Midland plant at any time in the future.
