We have reviewed our safety-related circuits and have concluded the following.
1.
Presently ve are not aware of any ITE Imperial time-delay relays of 1972 and 1973 vintage of the types listed as being used in the Midland plant.
We vill take precautions to ensure that no equipment purchased in the future contains these relays.
2.
The majority of the pneumatic time-delay relays used in safety-related cir-cuits are used for alarm purposes only, and serve no safety functions.

The vast majority of the pneumatic time delay relays used in safety-related functicas have repeat accuracies of + 10% or better.

h.
The suppliers of pneumatic time-delay relays with repeat accuracies of +
15% vill be requested to supply alternate relays having better accuracies.
liovever, in cases where the exchange for alternate relays is not feasible a surveillance calibration program vill be implemented during scheduled plant outages to verify the specified time delay settings.
