Pursuant to Section 2.711 of the Commission's Rules of Practice, Applicants hereby move for an extension j
1 of time to and including April 14, 1977 within which to file their Brief in support of Exceptions to the Initial Decision
.of the Licensing Board-dated January 6, 1977.

This request is being made because it is now c'. ear that the present filing date of April 4, 1977 is one which Applicants.are unable to meet.
While an intense effort 1
has been made to comply with the Appeal Board's briefing 1
schedule, the-preparation of memoranda and participation in
- oral argument on Applicants' stay motion caused more of an j.
interruption than anticipated; this necessary activity is largely responsible for the need for additional time.

In normal circumstances, Applicants would need no more than one additional week to complete preparation of their Erief.
However, a 10-day extension is deemed necessary at the present time because Passover and Easter are included in the designated period.
As a result, the first two weekends in April are, 2nderstandably, not available as full working weekends.

The undersigned counsel for Applicants has com-municated with all counsel for the opposition parties and been advised that they do not oppose the requested time extension so long as the remaining briefing schedule is similarly adjusted by an additional 10 days in each case.
Moreover, Applicants have advised opposing counsel that they will not object to any similar extension that might be requested by them should the need arise.
WHEREFORE, it is respectfully requested that the time within which to file Applicants' Brief in support ou their Ex-ceptions be extended to and including April 14, 1977.
