I am pleased to provide the Cocusittee with two copics of the enclosed environmental report prepared by The Toledo Edison Company on the enviromental considerations under the Natienal Enviro:nnental Policy Act relating to the application for the proposed Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station.
Tais report has been prepared by the apolicant at our request under our revised statement of policy on implenentation of the National Environmental Policy Act which was forwarded to the Cocs:ittee on June 1,1970. A notice of the availability of the report and request for cc:=nents frc:2 State and 1ccal agencies has been sent to the Office of the Federal 'Icgister for filing and publication (copies enclosed). A request for coments also has been sent to those applicabic Federal agencies specified in the Council on Environmental Quality's memorandtna of June 3,1970, and copics of the report have been for:rarded to the Council.
Afcar we have received the corncents of the Federal, State, and local agencies, we vill prepara a detailed environmental statecent, including a discussion of any problem or objections raised and the disposition thereof, and forward copies of the state:nent to the Cocunittee.
