Dear Mr. Bauser:
The Toledo Edison Company, Toledo, Ohio, and The Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company, Cleveland, Ohio, have filed an application for a construction permit and facility license to author 1=e con-struction and operation of a pressurized water nuclear reactor on the applicants' site on the scuchwest shore of Lake Erie, approxi-mately twenty-one miles cast of Toledo, in Ottawa County, Ohio.
The preposed reactor, designated as the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station, is designed for initial operation at approx 1=ataly 2633 megawatts thermal, with a net electrical output of approxir.ately 872 megawatts. Earliest and latest construction cot:pletion dates are estimated by the applicants to be April 1,1974 and April 1, 1975, respectively.
Two copies of a related notice which has been forwarded to the Office of the Federal Register for filing and publication are enclosed for the information of the Joint Cocnittee.
