Responsible Branch and Project Manager: LWR-1, L. Engle Systeas Safety Branch Involved: Analysis 3 ranch Description of Review: Audit Review Review Status: Review of Proposed Change Complete The Analysis Branch has reviewed Section 5, "Themal Hydraulic Design
and Section 7 on technical specification changes. We agree with the applicant that the actual system flow exceeds the design flow by an amount sufficient to corcensate for the increased bypass flow due to removal of all burnable poison rods and all but two orifice rod assemblies. In addition, the excess flow is sufficidnt to accocuodata the additional margin required for potential effects of dcd bow and for neasurerxnt uncertainties. Additional discussion is provided in the enclosed evaluation.
