Dear Wayne:
We have a potential problem developing, reaarding nuclear power plant operators, at the Davis-Bessie plant in Oak Harbor, Ohio.
Since'I wasn't sure to whom I should address my inquiry to, I recalled our past pleasent days of working together on S.C.N.C. and decided to carry my problem to you first. Knowine, full well that if you couldn't provide me with the requested information, that you would see that if was channeled into the proper hands.
The problem is simply that the State of Ohio has some deep concerns regarding the !!RC Certification of the nuclear reactor operators em-ployed at the above site. '!e would appreciate it if you could provide us with any.information available, relative to the qualification criteria and requirenents for operator certification. It is our intent to analize this information in order to deter =ine if additional stand-ards for training and qualification are necessary at the state level.
If the :iRC is not completely aware of the incident which caused our concern, or we =ay be of any help to your organization, please feel free o contact us at any time and we will offer you every assistance at our u.m.and.
We have responsibilities regarding safety assigned by state laws, and
~
it is our intent to fullfill those responsibilities.
!!ay I take this opportunity to thank you in advance for any help you might offer.
Very truly yours,
