SAFETY EVALUATION REPORT INFUT FOR DAVIS-BESSE NUCLEAR STATION, UNIT NO. 1 Enclosed is a copy of Section 11 of the SER for Davis-Besse, Unit No.1, marked up to reflect the staff's Appendix I analysis. Tais SER input evaluates the acceptability of Davis-Besse, Unit No.1 only. The capability of Davis-Besse, Unit Nos.1, 2 and 3 to meet the site criteria of Appendix I will be evaluated in the SER for Davis-Besse, Unit Nos. 2 and 3.
The applicant has not proposed to design the gaseous radvaste treatment system to withstand a hydrogen explosion or provide redundant instrumen-tation to annunciate and pr3 vent the buildup of potentially explosive mixtures. Therefore, we find this system unacceptable.
Wo have enclosed Section IS.7.3, Postulated Radioactive Rele.13es Due to Liquid Tank Failures, which we.s not previously previded.
